Project 229 manages the SPACE project and it's team. Project 229 developed and established SPACE in partnership with the Early Help Team and Families First Bedfordshire (who continue to support the project).
EARLY HELP AND INTERVENTION TEAM
Bedford Borough Council
The Early Help Team were aware that there was little support for young people in Bedford who had experienced Domestic Abuse. They enlisted Project 229 to establish SPACE in partnership along with Families First Bedfordshire (now ONE YMCA/ECP).
Early Help currently provide the youth club facilities.
EARLY CHILDHOOD PARTNERSHIP
Part of ONE YMCA
ECP (formally Families First Bedfordshire) have been part of the SPACE partnership from the start. They currently provide a Play Therapist at SPACE sessions to support the young people.

Main Funder of SPACE
The Harpur Trust are our biggest funder to-date and we wouldn't be where we are without them! They currently fund all the SPACE staff.

COVID RECOVERY FUND:

ACTIVITY BUDGET AND CORE COSTS
The COVID Recovery Fund has enabled us to continue running our service in the wake of COVID. Thanks to the continued support of BLCF we can continue to provide transport and run a vast array of exciting activities for our groups.
PANACEA
Funded the development of the 'Green Room': A Therapeutic Space
Thanks to the Panacea we were able to refurbish an unused office at the Youth Centre and transform it into a therapeutic room for young people who attend SPACE. The money also enabled us to run therapeutic art workshops and the 'Well Women Workshop' well-being programmes for mums.
UK YOUTH
Therapeutic Swimming Sessions
We are very excited to have received funding to run 12 swimming sessions for young people who attend SPACE.
WH SMITHS
Books, Books and more Books!
WH Smiths awarded us with a £100 grant to purchase therapeutic books to be used by staff and young people at SPACE.
MARK WEST FUND:
BEDFORDSHIRE AND LUTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Therapeutic Dance and Cooking Sessions
The Mark West Fund has enabled us to begin running cooking workshops at SPACE: Youth Club! Away from the youth club their money will also fund ten therapeutic dance sessions for girls who attend SPACE.
THE KFC FOUNDATION
Funded Outdoor Adventure Sessions and a Graffiti Project
A big thank you to KFC for awarding SPACE the money to pay for a SPACE wide graffiti project and a number of trips out on the water with Canoe Trail.

Going the distance for SPACE
Kelli has completed both the London Marathon and Three Peaks challenge in aid of SPACE and has raised over £1500 for us. We are incredibly grateful to her for her awesome efforts!
DENNIS TAILOR
Just keeps going!
Dennis is on a mission to raise as much money as he can by cycling, walking and running his way across the globe. Recently he organised a 100 mile bike ride (following the Bunyan Trail) and walked from Lands End to John-O'Groats. We are incredibly grateful to Dennis for his dedication to raising money for Project 229 & SPACE.

A "supper" fundraiser!
Grace raised over £1000 for SPACE at their Autumn supper.
ROTARY
2020 Chosen Charity
The Rotary chose Project 229 & SPACE as one of their projects of the year. They have run a wide range of fabulous fundraisers and raised over £7000 for Project 229 and SPACE! Incredible.

£500 Donation
The Bedford Lions donated funds for new equipment and project materials for SPACE
BEDFORD FORESTERS COOPERATIVE
229 Golf Challenge!
New fundraising and volunteering group The Bedford Foresters challenged supporters to pinpoint where member and avid golfer Chris's 229th stroke would land to raise funds for Project 229 and SPACE.
RIDGEWAY SCHOOL, KEMPSTON
Cakes for Cash!
Students at Ridgeway School developed a project to support their local community and made and sold delicious brownies to raise money for Project 229 and SPACE. They were very popular with the staff apparently!
